![]() ![]() The section below contains a coaxial antenna port which can be connected to a cable /satellite Set Top Box (STB). Next to the power input is an IR receiver, optical digital audio output, and a LAN port. While using an external power supply does reduce the size of the chassis, the power supply is rather bulky so I would have preferred if it had been built in. To reduce the HU70LA overall size and weight to its absolute minimum, the projector utilizes an external power supply. Starting from the top section on the left is a DC input port where you plug in the unit’s external power supply. ![]() I may end up having to start widening my search to include some lamp based units to find something that works. The inputs and connections are all located on the rear of the HU70LA. however I have a limited time in my return window, so the bugs need to be addressed quickly (Doubtful). If these "bugs" issues can be fixed I would probably end up keeping the viewsonic. I have 3 other cable boxes in the house that I have tried, all them work fine on my other tv's, however they all fail with the x10-4ke. When the projector is shut off, or switched to another source, the cable box looses connection and power needs to be unplugged from the cable box before it will reconnect and show video on the projector. There seems to be a compatibility issue with the HDMI handshaking with the projector and my wireless cable box. have not heard back from them as to a fix. I have confirmed this with Viewsonic tech support who were able to replicate it. There is an issue with HDR, Turning off HDR on the projector menu will result in an unwatchable very dark image. I gave up with it and plugged in my Firestick instead. apk's directly into the unit, however not everything will run smoothly. Although it runs android, it does not use google services and runs aptoide store. contrast could be better, but it's no worse than the previous projectors. Great image quality along with colour reproduction. Brighter than I expected.to my eyes, it is just as bright displaying on my screen as the other 2 projectors, no doubt part of this due to it being a shorter throw so it's physically closer to the screen and not having to throw light as far. Audio is fantastic, sounds just as good as a full sized soundbar. There are lot of things it does well - Great looking package. I honestly want to like this projector, but right now I'm on the fence. Projector #3 - Viewsonic x10-4ke - 2500 LED Lumens (About 1000 ANSI Lumens). In it's cinema/movie mode it looked no brighter on my screen than the epson.Very evident rainbow effect being dlp. Lacked any sort of depth, sounded like something out of a cheap toy.4000 lumens sounds like a lot, but that was in it's brightest mode which also made everything look green, so not suitable for watching video. Most disappointed with this unit overall. Projector # 2 - Optoma HZ39HDR - 4000 Lumen Laser. it's hard not to see the screen door/jaggies once you experience the higher resolutions. the image quality was liveable until I tested out the other 2 higher resolution projects. If epson came out with a 1080p or 4K version I would take it in a heart beat. quite honestly the only drawback was that it was it's 1280x800 resolution and it's poor black levels. it definitely had a little depth to it and loud enough to use when outdoors. Bright as heck, great size, has Android TV built in so it was very easy to get any streaming app I wanted on it. quite honestly this was a fantastic projector. do not want to deal with the maintenance/care of a lamp based projector Don't want to have to connect it to an external sound system to get sound suitable for tv watching.Ĥ - no lamps. ġ - Going to be installed most of the time ceiling mounted in the basement to project on a 106" screen but needs to be portable and convenient enough for outdoor movie nightsĢ - Needs to be bright enough for viewing in the basement with some lights on as well as outdoor movie viewing before the sun completely setsģ - has decent sounds from speakers. I've been going testing a few projectors the last few weeks trying to find the one that comes closest to my wants. ![]()
